This book tells the story of my life’s journey. Each part reflects moments I’ve lived—from birth to adulthood. I’ve taken the time to look back and capture what it was like during each season of my life: how I was brought up, what I was taught, and how those lessons shaped me.
Much of what you’ll read comes straight from memory—without my mother here to guide me through her “time machine.” Some moments may surprise you; others may touch your heart. But together, they reveal how purpose and destiny were always working in my life.
I could have made better choices at times. Still, coming from my background, survival often felt like the only option. As you read, I want you to picture a little boy who wasn’t given much, but who learned to use his intelligence to navigate life with the mindset of a grown man—and later to apply those same principles as an adult.
There are moments in this story I’ve never spoken about before, and others I’ve only mentioned in passing. My hope is that these pages give you insight into how I was trained, what I was taught, and how I eventually came into my own.
I especially hope that young men reading this will see themselves somewhere in these pages and realize they are meant for good and great things. You don’t have to fall victim to the snares and traps of the enemy.
And for everyone who reads this book—may you find knowledge, wisdom, and something meaningful to take to heart. Apply it to your life, or to someone else’s, and keep pressing forward.
